Ghoulish & Gush-worthy

Halloween is just around the corner and I can barely contain my excitement.  It is another one of my favourite “holidays,” because of the elaborate costumes and copious amounts of candy.  The party ideas are also endless, making it a planners dream.   And who doesn’t love a good scare!   If you are planning a wedding or engagement party around Halloween and happen to love gothic things or hints of ghoulish elements why not incorporate them into your wedding or event?

When selecting a venue think mysterious, dim lighting, with dark accents and decor.  For instance, The Berkeley Church in Toronto would be a perfect venue to host a wedding with a Halloween flare.  This venue is edgy, urban and a little bit creepy with its historic and distressed look and feel.

Decor is another perfect way to incorporate your love for this spooky holiday.  You may want to kept your decor subtle if you are not going for a full Halloween themed affair. Incorporating things like black chandeliers and small skull candles as accent pieces for your tables, as well as using florals in deep, rich colours like purple and red will really set the tone and atmosphere.  And don’t forget the candles.  The more the better!

The options are endless.  Everything from your invitations and cake to your cuff links can be tailored to meet your ghoulish and gush-worthy vision.
